I started this hCG diet journey with hCG injections at 172 pounds, 34.5% body fat and a size 16/18. I’m now a size 2/4 and 125 lbs or so. I’ve been cycling crossfit with the hCG diet to achieve the best body composition for myself. In 9 months of attending crossfit I have gained 12 lbs of muscle (proof by hydrostatic body fat testing). Through the hCG diet I have lost almost 40 lbs of actual fat (not just water weight or muscle)- again, proof by hydrostatic body fat testing and DEXA scan. My hydrostatic bodyfat percent started at 34.5% and I am currently 17.9% bodyfat. All fat loss was achieved with the hCG diet, scouts honor!
It’s important to drink enough water and liquids while on the hCG diet. But how much water should you drink? You can actually drink too much water, so it’s good to be balanced which i discuss in this video. Also I mention some different tips on how to drink enough liquids and how to make it easy and pleasant.

Tip 1: Thirsty not Hungry.
Drinking enough liquids while on HCG Injections is a definite factor in not eating too much on the protocol. Sometimes when you think you are hungry on the protocol, you are actually thirsty- use this as your first line of defense before you eat too many calories on hCG. Try drinking something first, like some hot tea with stevia, and see if you are still hungry after that. We know that eating too many calories on the hCG diet makes the whole protocol totally ineffective, so this is a good thing to try when you’ve eaten your calories for the day and think you’re still hungry for more (being excessively hungry on hCG is also often a dose issue which I talk about here.)
