Proper nutrition is essential to health. It will help you feel and look good. What you eat plays a large role in how you feel. Look to these tips to help your overall nutrition. It’ll make a true difference in your life.

White flour items can easily be substituted with whole-grain or whole-meal products. Whole grains have more fiber and protein than refined foods. The whole grains keep you full longer and can help in improving cholesterol levels. Check the nutritional facts to ensure that a major ingredient is listed as “whole”.

Select lean turkey products in place of ground beef in recipes. Doing so will mean that you are eating fewer calories and saturated fat. Choose ground turkey breast rather than dark turkey meat since the dark meat contains a higher amount of fat. Most ground turkey packages include a combination of white and dark meat and this is less nutritionally ideal than white meat only.

In the past, people felt that processed grains were better tasting and more refined, and they gradually phased out whole grains. Using white flour is more efficient for some baked goods. However, whole grains generally have a richer taste that processed grains, and the high fiber content aids in digestion.

A great nutritional tip is to cut out sugar from your diet and start using an artificial sweetener. Excessive sugar can result in many adverse health problems, like heart disease. Therefore, you should use artificial sweeteners like Stevia or Splenda instead. You won’t even notice the difference.
